Did you know that your intuition is always speaking to you? When your intuition sends a message, however, your brain often won’t be able to make sense of it. You may then experience frustration or confusion, resulting in thoughts like: I don’t understand, this won’t work and I quit.
In the years I’ve worked with the Chakra Wisdom Oracle, (Tori's bestselling spiritual toolkit for transforming your life), I’ve discovered that our brain’s “soul” purpose is to keep us safe. Here’s a story that shows how this works:
One day, a client - a graphic designer - came to me because she desperately wanted to work in a big Advertising Agency. Yet, she could never get past sending out CV’s and had no idea why. Oddly, she had always worked in advertising as a freelancer or in home offices; she’d just never worked a day in a business office.
As I read for her, I could see that her upset meant that her intuition had a message for her. She said nearly everything on the list above! I was pulled to ask if her mother had worked in an office.
Calmly, she told me that her mother had been murdered in her office at work when my client was young. I instantly understood: her brain had made a decision to keep her from working in an office to save her life.
Which is great! However, in so doing, it shut down her intuition by preventing her from following her dreams.
Like an overprotective parent, the brain will shut down anything -- even something you deeply desire -- if it senses you might experience hurt.
Remember: The brain’s goal is to protect you.
The brain never waits for an outcome; so your intuition, like a curious child, will get stopped before the adventure begins. Once my client saw this, she was frantic to know how she could get rid of that programming.
She asked me what she needed to do. She just needed to be with herself and process her feelings. This was a time to honour her brain, which had made a powerful decision based on information she had at the time.
What she hadn’t realized was that, while her brain had saved her life, she would now have to reclaim her intuition to live it. In time, her intuition would guide her to her destiny.
Less than eight months later, she was working in an Ad Agency. When anyone has a breakthrough of this magnitude, it feels as though they’ve been holding a hot frying pan. Recognizing ignored intuition can bring up grief.
Since grief is love without a place to go, reclaiming your intuition is key!
The steps to clear a serious brain block are:
1. Recognize the event and that your brain has made decisions based on it.2. Sit with the feelings for a time and breathe. Allow them to overwhelm you, breathe again and bring down white light from the heavens. Drop your shoulders and be with your feelings.
3. Recognize that your brain did a miraculous thing! It saved your life! Somewhere in your chakra energy (often your third chakra), a decision was reached, and your brain formed a barrier to protect you. Thank it, be with it. Be grateful it protected you.
4. When you have truly acknowledged yourself, buy your brain a thank-you card (yes, I said that!) and express your gratitude.
5. Ask your angels and guides to offer you a way to assign a new task to your brain.
How do you know if it’s happening to you?
Look at the list above. When any of those feelings are coming up, your intuition may be reaching out, and your brain may be stopping it – to protect, not to block you. You now know the signals your intuition is sending when it’s trying to send a message.
