As I was taking a stroll over life’s bridge
Between two clouds and a narrow ridge
I noticed an older gentlemen up ahead
Hands folded, eyes closed and a bowed head
His silent contemplation and hushed, gentle grace
Had me faltering in mid-step before I stopped in place
My heart suddenly longed to like this man
Someone not afraid to take a stand
With so many others questioning God’s existence
This faithful man was asking Him for His assistance
Suddenly, I knew exactly what I should do
So I bowed my head and vowed anew
That no matter how hard life became
My heart would always remain the same
