Given my upcoming interview with the Director of National Poetry Day, it got me thinking about what poems we all should read before we die. Flavorwire, cultural news and critique website revealed a list last year. So do you agree, or is there a poem not on this list that you think we all should read in our lifetime? If you do, let me know and I can compile a Female First Readers list!

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox
and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast
Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold
