Madhu in Tamil movie 'Pathinaru'
She's been in hit Tamil movies such as 'Pathinaru' and 'Avan Ivan,' but now Madhu Shalini is making her debut in Bollywood and she's not coming quietly. With movie 'Department' as her first Bollywood venture we will see the actress play a role that hasn't been seen in Indian cinema before - a female gangster. The movie is not your typical Bollywood love story nor does it have a hero and heroine set-up.
The actress will also be sharing screen space with big names in the industry such as Sanjay Dutt, Rana Daggubatti and Bollywood's most famous actor, the one and only Amitabh Bachchan.
Speaking about her role in the movie she told India Glitz: "'My character is highly daring and the gangster I play accepts no obstacles. She can be extremes, depending on how people treat her and get dangerous if people get on her way."
Sounds interesting... A girl gangster? It's about time Bollywood brought a refreshing change to the movie scene.
The movie is expected to be released in early 2012.
