Song from Ra.One used illegally
Shah Rukh Khan has taken legal action against Agni jewellery brand for using the unreleased song, 'Chamak Challo' from his upcoming production 'Ra.One' at the recently held India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) 2011.
The song which is by singer Akon, has already leaked once before. The scratch version of the song was leaked online a few months ago, and now jewellery brand Agni picked up that one and used it on the fourth day of the IIJW.
The actor is said to be furious about the incident. To even play a song at a show or event of any kind you need a license. However for an unreleased song you cannot obtain a license to do so anyway.
According to Hindustani Times a source from Shah Rukh's, Red Chillies Entertainment said: "Shah Rukh Khan was livid when he learnt that the unreleased number has been used by the brand. The scratch version of the song was leaked on the internet a few months ago, which was probably picked up by the jewellery brand. It is a very careless mistake. Surely they knew that the song requires a license."
Ra.One is set to be released on October 26th 2011.
