Bollywood beauty Rani Mukherjee was at what was called the largest Independence Day celebration outside of India. The stunning event was organised by the Federation of Indian Associations.
The parade had floats by US-based Indian organisations and also in true Bollywood style, glamorous dance performances.
Looking like a true Indian fashionista in an Anarkali outfit, the 33-year-old actress shouted out to the crowd: "I feel as if i'm in India today."
Infamous Classical singer Pandit Jasraj, actor Gulshan Grover and singer Shibani Kashyap were also present at the parade that ran for 10 blocks in the heart of New York City.
