The first movie starring Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea
It has been confirmed that the original star from 'Raaz' is returing to the highly anticipated horror franchise in, 'Raaz 3.' Actress Bipasha Basu who was in the first movie in 2002 has officially signed up for the third sequel of the movie.
The actress wasn't in the 2009 sequel 'Raaz – The Mystery Continues,' in fact none of the original cast were. Bipasha was replaced by Kangana Ranaut and the male lead Dino Morea was replaced by Emraan Hashmi.
At the time Dino told the Hindustani Times: "I'm not disappointed but definitely baffled. How can they make a Raaz 2 without anyone from the original cast? How can it be a sequel, then?"
Jolly good question Dino. I mean, it's not as if only the cast changed. So did the whole bloody story! A sequel carries on from where it ended, a new part to the story, yes? But 'Raaz – The Mystery Continues,' didn't continue no mystery, it created a whole new one!
Whereas the first movie was about a couple who are being taunted by an evil spirit, that turns out to be the husband's (Dino) mistress, who committed suicide because he refused to leave his wife. (Bipasha)
The second movie keeps the same horror theme but is about a painter (Emraan) and a model (Kangna,) the painter has an extraordianry gift. His paintings tell the models future, who is possessed by an evil spirit.
Now in 'Raaz 3' it has been confirmed Bipasha will be back from the first movie and so will Emraan from the second movie. So it will be interesting to see what the plot will be this time.
The movie is set to be released on July 6th 2012.
