Irfan Khan excited to play new role
Bollywood actor Irfan Khan has landed his dream role in the latest Spiderman movie where he will be playing the new villain Proto Goblin.
This isn’t the actor’s first taste of Hollywood; the 48-year-old has also starred in movies such as: ‘A Mighty Heart,’ The Namesake,’ and multi award winning British movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
According to eTalkIndia, Irfan says that the Spiderman movies keep on adding new elements to the franchise and that’s what excites him. Khan claims to have watched all the Spiderman movies and read the comics too. He adds that each new film puts new angles and new challenges thus exploiting the characters while maintaining the credibility.
The star who has worked with some of the top actors in Bollywood is said to be ecstatic about his new role.
Sam Raimi who has been the director of the previous Spiderman movies has been replaced with Marc Webb, who debuted last year with the movie ‘500 Days of Summer.’ The new Spiderman movie is expected to hit screens in 2012.
