The 90's pin-up girl left the big screen in 2003 after the movie 'Mere Jeevan Saathi.' But now Karishma Kapoor is returning to Bollywood to star in Vikram Bhatt's 'Dangerous Ishq.' But whatever you do, don't call this a comeback...
According to Gulf News the 37-year-old said: "Pardon me, there's no comeback. What is the meaning of comeback? Do you have kids?"
She carried on to say: "If you had kids, and joined back journalism after having your baby, would you call it a comeback? No, right?"
Ermm yes. If it was after nearly nine years you can hardly call it maternity leave now can you?! Taking into consideration she had a baby girl in 2003 and then a boy in 2010 - this IS a comeback!
I mean for a long time it was thought Karishma won't be gracing our Bollywood screens ever again. That's it. No more acting. Finito. So this new movie is certainly a comeback movie. It's HER comeback to Bollywood. I don't quite frankly understand her irritation with the word!
"There is no comeback! This term should be abolished!" (Karishma again.)
O.k so she DID appear in 2007's 'Om Shanti Om' but it was a special appearance in a song where all she did was knock out a few classic dance moves for like 20 seconds.
Anyway, in her new flick she will be seen opposite model-turned-actor Rajneish Duggal. And she will play five different roles, in five different lifetimes.
She said:"I can't talk much about the movie as it is in production stage. But obviously there was something in it that made me want to do it. It is something that I have not done till today. Touch wood, by the grace of God I have been able to do a variety of roles. So this was something of the next level."
She added: "The film deals with something that intrigues people today and people are aware of it. It is something to do with past life regression. So it will be mystical and different for viewers to watch."
The movie is set to be released November 2011.
