'Bodyguard' was a recent movie filmed at Film City.
The 33-year-old Film City, also called Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari, which is spread over 520 acres of land with 16 studios is going to get a modern makeover.
The Maharashtra government has decided to equip it with state-of-the-art facilities and also make it a tourist spot. Tourists will be welcome to watch shoots and also visit film sets. A Bollywood museum is also being planned to open on the Film City premises.
According to CNN GO film City public relations officer Saini said: "We want the Film City to become one of the best places for filmmaking, we also want it to become a sought after tourist spot. However, we won’t open the entire Film City for tourism purposes. There will be just few places that will be open to the general public."
He added: “We have decided to work on this plan because we used to get many requests from people so we thought why not do something so that people can see what happens inside a film set and get a closer look at Bollywood?”
Sounds good to me, i wouldn't mind getting a closer look at Shah Rukh Khan in action!
The date of when the makeover begins is not yet confirmed.
