DreamWorks Animation announced that they are developing a computer animated Bollywood flick titled 'Monkeys of Bollywood.' The American company have hired a great collection of people to create this musical wonder.
Bollywood composer A.R Rahman who was responsible for the music in hit movie Slumdog Millionaire in addition they have also recruited Broadway lyricist Stephen Schwartz the man behind the songs in the musical Wicked and husband-and-wife producing team Gurinder Chadha and Paul Berges who brought us 'Bend it like Beckham' and 'Bride and Prejudice.'
The Mumbai-set story is inspired by epic Hindu poem 'The Ramayana.' The musical adventure will follow two monkeys who must stop an ancient demon from conquering the world.
Stephen Schwartz said on Bollywood Hungama: “As soon as I heard that DreamWorks Animation envisioned making an animated Bollywood movie, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. The fact that A.R. Rahman got involved made it an even more exciting project.”
The movie has no release date as of yet but watch this space.
