We all know how Bollywood loves to do a Hollywood remake, take Hollywood movie 'I Am Sam' Bollywood did 'Main Aisa Hi Hoon.' 'Three Men and a Baby' Bollywood came out with 'Heyy Babyy' another one is 'She's The Man' Bollywood did 'Dil Bole Hadippa.' And the list goes on and on, with 'The Italian Job' being the latest victim.
I say victim, because quite simply the Bollywood industry thinks it is pefectly alright to plagiarise. Yes, they lift a Hollywood story and use it without no permission or no accreditation whatsoever.
However Hollywood who obviously picked up on what B-town has been getting up to, has now made it clear that it is just not acceptable to copy their movies without permission.
'The Italian Job' is safe though as The Indian Film Company (IFC) has bought the rights to the film from Paramount Studios, and have renamed it 'Players.'
The movie will star some of Bollywood's finest icluding: Abishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Bobby Deol, Sonam Kapoor, Johny Lever and Vinod Khanna.
Filming for the movie started in November 2010 and is being shot in India, New Zealand and Russia. And word has it that the Hollywood cast of the movie will be going to India in November to promote the movie!
So what can we expect from this remake, anything original that the Hollywood movie didn't supply us? Why of course, a whole shabang of colourful singing and dancing...
The movie is releasing on the 23rd of December 2011.
