It is almost two months since Akshay Kumar's alleged obscene act at Lakme Fashion Week and the actor has now been arrested and released on bail.
The Bollywood actor was walking the catwalk in a fashion show when he stopped in front of his wife, Twinkle, and asked her to unbutton his jeans. Afterwards Anil Nair, a social activist, registered a police complaint against Akshay, Twinkle and the show organisers alleging obscenity.
A Police Officer told the Press Trust of India: "Akshay came to Vakola police station with a lawyer and surrendered. We arrested him under Sections 294 and 34 of Indian Penal Code for his alleged obscene behaviour and granted bail for a sum of Rs 950."
Akshay's publicist added: "As a law-abiding and responsible citizen, Akshay Kumar, on his return from an overseas shooting stint, insisted that he would like to meet with the police in regard to the incident. He went to police station and completed all formalities,"
Twinkle was arrested last month under the same charges and released on bail immediately.
The couple and the organisers of Lakme Fashion Week were booked under Section 294 IPC (obscene act and songs.)
