A.R Rahman picked up a BAFTA last night for his music composition for rags-to-riches film, Slumdog Millionaire.
The film itself managed to bag seven of the top awards in London last night, including best film.
Now however, Indian composer Rahman is hoping to continue his success by hoping for Oscar glory at the end of the month, and if he succeeds will become only the third Indian to do so.
"It is a great feeling... It is getting better and better and let's hope for the biggest one - the Oscars," Rahman told reporters on Sunday, after winning the award.
"I think it is important for people to know who the composer is. People started liking the music. It is a great feeling. So, I am giving it a try to satisfy them," the composer added.
"It's unbelievable," Rahman said moments earlier while accepting the BAFTA award, thanking, among others, "my beloved fans all over the world," reports Masala.
