The 50-year-old worker had accessed the big cats enclosure without authorisation before feeding time on Tuesday (29.03.22), which marks the second attack in three months at the attraction.

Collier Country Police department officers said in a statement: “We are having a hard time comprehending this happening again. A tiger in an enclosure at that location was being fed by (its) caretaker when a 50-year-old male, an employee of Wooten’s who was not authorised to be with the tiger, entered the tiger’s enclosure.”

After suffering injuries to both arms, the employee was taken to the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myersby the emergency services where he received medical attention.

The statement continued: "The tiger attacked the man and caused injuries to both arms. The man has been transported to a hospital by EMS."
