Portuguese pooch Bobi had his special day on Thursday (11.05.23) and will enjoy a "very traditional" party this weekend to mark the occasion.

100 guests are due to attend the celebrations at the family-run farm where Bobi was born in the village of Conqueiros. Some are even flying in from abroad to honour the dog - who was awarded the Guinness World Record title for the oldest canine in the world in February.

Local meats and fish will be served to guests at the party with extra helpings for Bobi, who only eats human food.

A dance troupe is also set to perform with the pooch due to take part in one of the dances himself.

His owner Leonel Costa told Guinness World Records: "We've had a lot of journalists and people come from all over the world to take a picture with Bobi.

"They've come from all over Europe, as well as the USA and even Japan."
