A Canadian woman has unofficially set a world record for running 100 metres on all fours.
Julie McCann ran on her hands and feet at the Greater Vernon Athletics Park in British Columbia on Monday (09.08.21) and finished comfortably under the 25-second mark that had been mandated by Guinness World Records.
McCann - who was timed at 22.99 seconds - first ran on all fours when she was just three years old and was inspired to pick up the strange hobby once again and attempt to set a female world record after hearing about Kenichi Ito, who broke the men's version of the record in Japan with a time of 15.71 seconds in 2015.
The 38-year-old told the Vernon Morning Star newspaper: "I just gave birth to my third child, my little girl, and I thought this would give me the motivation to get into being active again. More than anything else, I want to prove to myself that I can do it. I could do it in my 20s but could I still do it in my 30s?"
