A woman has proudly displayed her beard and armpit hair after previously spending £51,000 removing all her body hair.
Podcaster Bethany Burgoyne, 33, got tired of having to constantly wax, shave and bleach her body and facial hair so she decided to save up to have laser hair removal, which would have cost between £1,000 to £2,000.
Despite being trolled and having people question her gender, Burgoyne decided to learn to love her body hair and show it off.
She is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "Wherever I go I will get one comment from someone – 'how come you are so hairy? Are you a man or a woman?'"
She continued: "I felt encouraged to get rid of my hair. I was waxing, epilating, shaving and bleaching. It became very sad for me. I didn't feel confident in my natural body.
"That was the turning point, I just thought 'f*** it'."
The vlogger - who appeared on Channel 4's 'Naked Attraction' - loves her beard and says society needs to normalise women being hairy.
She continued: "If a woman has hair, it's deemed unattractive. When can we get to a point to see women as being hairy? I love my beard – it's growing back and it's lovely. I feel the most confident I have ever felt in my life."
Burgoyne added of her appearance on the British dating programme that has naked suitors show off their naked body parts to be chosen for a date: "I grew my leg hair, my pubic hair and I rocked it. Leg hair can grow into its own beautiful pattern. It's like your head hair."
Burgoyne wants other women to be inspired to bare their hair.
She added: "I really enjoy seeing people responding to my bod. People say, 'I wish I could go out and not shave my legs.' You can! You just have to do it and take it day by day. I'm advocating for hairy women."
