A woman from North Carolina who has used the same lottery numbers for 16 years has won $264,419.
Lola Allen won money on the lottery after playing the same numbers for 16 years
Lola Allen, a resident of Fayetteville has been playing the same numbers - her “favourite” - since 2006 and her faithful commitment has finally paid off with her winning more than $200,000 in a jackpot on a Cash 5 ticket.
She told the North Carolina Education Lottery: "From the very beginning, I've been using the same numbers. They are my favorite numbers, so I stuck with them."
Lola described being “numb” and “in shock” when the results rolled in.
She said: "When they all fell into place, I was in shock. I was numb."
According to the lottery officials, Lola was not the only winner that night with a Spring Lake resident and an unknown player - who has not come forward - all collecting a third of a $793,257 prize.
