A wedding ring that went missing 55 years ago has been found.
Ransom Jones explained that he had lost the ring while working at his parents' home in Tennessee more than five decades ago and that it had bugged him ever since.
Jones told The Daily News Journal: "As I threw a bunch of shavings out the door into a little garden patch, the ring went with the shavings."
He had thought the ring was gone forever until Doug Cook, who moved into the property in 2006, found the jewellery last month.
Jones admits that the ring finally being discovered reduced him to tears.
He explained: "It was quite an emotional event to recover this ring. After all these years the ring back on my finger as of right now.
"I'm not a weepy kind of guy but I did over that. It's been one of the most joyful experiences I've ever had."
