T. Rex was not as clever as previously thought.
A new study has debunked a claim made by a neuroscientist last year that the king of the dinosaurs had the brainpower to match baboons and were capable of problem-solving.
Researchers at Bristol University and the University of Southampton instead argue that T. Rex was as smart as modern crocodiles and lizards after examining the brain size and structure of the extinct beasts.
Dr. Darren Naish, a palaeontologist at the University of Southampton, said: "The possibility that T. Rex might have been intelligent as a baboon is fascinating and terrifying, with the potential to reinvent our view of the past.
"But our study shows how all the data we have is against this idea.
"They were more like smart giant crocodiles, and that's just as fascinating."
