A Japanese train driver faces disciplinary action for taking a toilet break.
The unnamed bullet train driver asked a conductor, who did not possess the necessary licence, to man the train for several minutes as it travelled at 93mph.
160 passengers were aboard the train in the central Shizuoka prefecture but the driver's loo break did not impact on the journey.
The driver reportedly needed to use the toilet urgently after suffering from a stomach ache but company rules state that they must contact their transport command centre if they feel unwell.
Both the driver and conductor face punishment for their failure to abide by the rules, the Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) has said.
Senior official Masahiro Hayatsu added: "It was an extremely inappropriate act. We apologise."
