A man was bitten by a snake as he sat on the toilet.
The unnamed 65 year old felt a "pinch in the area of his genitals" before noticing a five foot reticulated python - the world's largest snake, which don't usually attack humans unless they feel threatened or mistake something for food - in the bowl beneath him.
The man, from Graz, Austria, was treated for minor injuries in hospital.
It is thought the snake escaped from a neighbour's apartment, though it is unclear how.
Emergency services enlisted the help of a reptile expert. who removed the snake from the toilet and cleaned it before it was returned it to its owner.
Police also confirmed a 24-year-old neighbour, who owns 11 snakes, has been reported to the prosecutors' office on suspicion of negligently causing bodily harm.
