Six baby squirrels were rescued after losing their tree and their parents.
Veterinarians and volunteers at Rehabilitation Centre for Protected Animals in Przemysl, Poland are working to save the animals after their home and family were destroyed as a result of deforestation.
The newborns lost their nest when their tree was cut down, and they fought to survive when their parents died, even coming under attack by dogs in the forest before being rescued by volunteers.
The vice-head of the facility, Jakub Kotowicz, revealed that although they have a policy not to intervene in wildlife the animals were in dire need of help.
He told Eurovision: ''In the case of these squirrels there was an indication for intervention. They would not survive without us; they would not manage it by themselves.''
The centre is hoping to release the animals back into their natural habitat as soon as their able.
