Tom Sexton took his clothes off before jumping from the Gry Maritha in Penzance, Cornwall, to save a meerkat called Boris.

Tom explained: "I decided I'd jump in and grab him so I stripped off down to my boxers and put on some gloves to go get him - I knew they could be quite nippy."

The 33-year-old skipper was actually surprised by how easy it was to capture Boris, who was en route to Axe Valley Zoo in Axminster, Devon, before his escape effort.

Despite this, he still ended up stripping down to his boxers and jumping overboard in order to rescue the animal.

He explained: "I was surprised how easy it was to get him, though. We then put him back in his box and hoisted him back onto the deck."
