Some 170,000 Brits will be celebrating their birthday today, while a host of A-list celebrities will also be blowing out their candles sometime this month, including the likes of Beyoncé, Prince Harry and One Direction's Niall Horan.

In recognition of the occasion, James Sturrock, Managing Director of Moonpig, said: ''Birthdays are a special occasion for all, even if you do share them with thousands of other people worldwide.

''In September we see an increase of close to 60,000 more birthday cards being sent to loved ones.''
