KUOW-FM - a local station run by NPR - have been contacted by angry car owners of models made in 2014 to 2017 about being unable to change the dial due a "apparent issue" over signal and hardware not complying.

In a statement, they said: "KUOW is aware of an apparent issue between our signal and some Mazda infotainment systems, causing radios to reboot when they connect to KUOW 94.9 FM signal.”

They confirmed they are in talks with the manufacturer Xperi and HD Radio to get to the bottom of the issue.

Madza also responded to the situation, promising free parts and repair for those impacted by the problem.

They promised that customers"who can submit a goodwill request to the Mazda Warranty department on their behalf, order the parts, and schedule a free repair when the parts arrive."
