Amazon has launched a hunt for 'Britain's Next Pet Model'
'Britain's Next Top Model' will step aside as Britain's Next Pet Model plans to judge pooches and ponies in the same way as catwalk star Naomi Campbell.
The manicured claws will come out as pet owners battle it out - polished hounds tooth and nail - for their animals to make the cut and win £1,000.
Amazon launched the social media contest on Thursday (11.05.16), to find the 'face of' its Pets Store and has also revealed its most popular pet accessorise and treats owners have purchased over the last 16 months.
Topping the bill is doggy hair clippers, bow ties, tartan coats and bandanas - but not forgetting the most bizarre - dog cologne.
Sales figures show its animal lovers in Scotland that pamper their pets the most, followed by Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
Seven animals, one from each category - a bird, small furry, horse, dog, fish, cat and reptile - will be chosen to feature on its Pet Store and also star in a series of 'Petwalk' videos where each animal will strut their stuff and model must-have products.
A spokeswoman for Amazon said: ''People can submit animals using the hashtag #AmazonPets. We've teamed up with social media influencers Rachel Oates, pet photographer/owner of Instagram account Winny the Corgi, and Jason Ashley, the owner of influential pet Instagram account, Blue Staffy to judge our entries.''
