Scientists think they have come up with a "miracle vaccine" that can fight off any virus.
The jab - which has been tested on mice - works by targeting the viral genome of a disease and experts are hopeful that it will be able to combat against all strains of both flu and Covid.
This would stop medics from having to figure out what the dominant strain of flu will be every year and could also fight off the threat of coronavirus that persists across the globe.
Rong Hai, a virologist at the University of California, said: "It is broadly applicable to any number of viruses, broadly against any variant of a virus, and safe for a broad spectrum of people. This could be the universal vaccine that we have been looking for."
