CCTV footage allegedly shows a "terrorist planting a bomb" under pro-Kremlin oligarch Konstantin Malofeev's car, which was later removed by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).

Malofeev runs the religious-oriented media network Tsargard TV and publicly supports the restoration of the tsarist Russian empire.

Ukraine is yet to comment on the incident but it has accused Malofeev of funding "illegal armed groups" in the past.

The FSB said in a public statement: "The act of terrorism was planned to be carried out by detonating a home-made explosive device attached under Malofeev's car."

Following the incident, the oligarch posted on his Telegram channel to confirm that he was fine and that nobody else had been hurt.

Malofeev said: "I have no personal hatred even for those people who want me dead.

"But as many of our saints have said, one must forgive one's personal enemies and crush the enemies of the Fatherland.

"So we will fight against you until our victory and nothing will stop us."

The attempt on Malofeev's life was thought to be a similar method to the car bomb attack that killed Darya Dugina last August.

The woman was the daughter of philosopher Alexander Dugin - who is also known as 'Putin's Rasputin'.
