The animal - named Maya - was pregnant when she was last seen five months ago, and it's alleged hunters could be to blame for both she and her cubs vanishing.

As reported by nature agency ANB, the wolf was the first to be seen in Belgium in a century, and wolves are considered extinct across a lot of central Europe.

Under EU regulations, the animals has the highest protection status (requiring conservation).

Bird Protection Flanders, Animal Rights and the Nature Aid Centre are together offering the reward along with an anonymous Belgian businessman.
