A rat caught sneaking through a cat flap has been rescued and named Prince Charming.
The rodent is thought to have been on a mission to find some food when he was seen entering a stranger's house in Cheshire earlier this month.
The homeowner realised that the rat wasn't a wild creature and called the RSPCA rather than pest control and launched a Facebook appeal to find the rat's owner.
No owner has come forward for the rodent so the Manchester and Salford branch of the RSPCA will need to rehome the animal soon.
Manager Susie Hughes said: "This poor fella must have been very hungry and in need of care as he was brave enough to try and climb through somebody’s cat flap!
"He is very friendly and has such a gentle nature. He’s so adorable in fact that we have named the young rat Prince Charming, in the hope that he gets his fairytale ending very soon."
