Queen Elizabeth's stunt double has been jailed

Skydiver Gary Connery - who doubled for the Queen at the London Olympics in 2012 - has been jailed for 18 months after he was found guilty of pushing his former girlfriend downstairs in 2020.

Judge Nigel Daly said at Oxford Crown Court: "You show no remorse for what happened and you do not seem to accept any fault on your behalf."

Tanya Brass - Connery's ex-girlfriend - suffered a "shattered" shoulder in the incident.

She told the court in a statement: "I just want Gary to take responsibility for what he has done and how he has impacted my family.

"The impact on every aspect of my life has been enormous."
