Vladimir Putin has claimed that Germany is still "occupied" after surrendering following World War II.
The Russian president suggested that the country's response to the Nord Stream gas pipeline explosions shows that it is unable to act independently nearly eight decades after waving the white flag in the Second World War.
Putin added that other European leaders have lost their sense of independence and sovereignty due to the power of the United States.
The tyrant said: "The matter is that European politicians have said themselves publicly that after World War Two, Germany was never a fully sovereign state.
"The Soviet Union at one point withdrew its forces and ended what amounted to an occupation of the country. But that, as is well known, was not the case with the Americans. They continue to occupy Germany."
Putin insists that the Nord Stream explosions were carried out at "state level" and dismissed German claims that the blasts could have been orchestrated by Moscow as a "false-flag operation to blame Ukraine".
Taking aim at the US, the warmonger said: "One should always look for those who are interested. And who is interested? Theoretically, of course, the United States is interested. An explosion of this kind, of this power, at this depth, can only be carried out by specialists, and supported by the full power of the state, which has certain technologies."
