Police smashed their way into a house to rescue an elderly woman - only to discover that it was a parrot squawking the word 'help'.
Officers kicked down the door at the woman's home in Sutton Coldfield on Wednesday (15.06.22) after hearing reports of somebody in distress but confused cops only found a parrot in a cage when they got inside.
The son of the elderly woman arrived shortly afterwards and explained that his mother was totally fine, revealing that the parrot had caused the false alarm.
West Midlands Police tweeted: "C Team Sutton respond to a report of an elderly female shouting for help inside her address.
"Entry forced and searched however no sign of the female.
"Son arrives and informs PC Jukes that the parrot in the living room talks and was the one shouting help!"
