A 92-year-old man has passed his GCSE maths exam with top marks.
Derek Skipper sat the test after studying the subject via Zoom and is believed to be the oldest person in the UK to do a GCSE paper.
The pensioner from Cambridgeshire passed the exam with a grade five - the highest mark possible for the course he studied - despite requiring a magnifying glass to help with his poor eyesight.
Skipper last sat a maths exam in 1946 and revealed that he took the GCSE "for a bit of fun".
He told BBC Breakfast after getting his result: "I am very pleased indeed.
"Here was an opportunity that came through the door to do a Zoom meeting - doing the test again - and seemed to me to be an ideal opportunity.
"Maths is a wonderful thing and it is very easy to say you are no good at it... any opportunity to learn and embrace it, great."
