Ghosts are dying out.
Research have studied 100 well-known haunted spots over the course of a decade and found that many of the sites have experienced a significant decline in paranormal sightings.
Any ghosts that did "interact" with the experts at Project Half-Life were said to have only been around for a century or less and the experts thinks it shows that ghouls are similar to humans as they have a limited lifespan.
Brian Sterling-Vete, head of the world's first Paranormal Rescue service, said: "When all the data was considered, it was quite a shock to think that many of our once-famous ghosts could be literally dying.
"Project Half-Life suggests that sentient ghosts seem to have a limited lifespan, just like living humans.
"I would argue that our findings show ghosts do conform to the second law of thermodynamics as they appear to run out of energy."
