New details revealed under a Freedom of Information request revealed some of the strangest cases surrounding noisy lovemaking - with some disputes going on for so long that authorities fitted recording equipment.
One person complained to Warwick Council that their neighbours could be seen bonking in their kitchen with the window open and the lights on.
In Hull, neighbours having rumpy-pumpy in a blow-up hot tub sparked anger while Sutton Council in South London had a total of four cases.
In one complaint, a resident said: "The couple have windows wide open. We are being woken up in the middle of the night/early in the morning.
"Basically, they are screaming when having sex."
The true number of complaints about noisy sex is likely to be a lot higher as many councils do not separate the incidents from general noise complaints.
