Patrons at a fast food restaurant in Texas were horrified when a mouse dived into a deep fryer.

A customer captured the scene at a Whataburger restaurant in Bastrop, Texas, on video, which showed a mouse running across the counter before it launched itself into the fryer, to the horror of staff and customers.
The video was posted to Facebook and quickly racked up 1.4 million views in less than 24 hours, along with being shared more than 50,000 times.
According to CBS Austin, the company said in a statement in the comments section of the post: ''Thank you for bringing this to our attention. At Whataburger, cleanliness and food safety are top priorities for us. In this instance, we closed the restaurant out of an abundance of caution and notified pest control. The entire restaurant has since been cleaned and sanitised.
''We addressed this situation as quickly as possible, reinforcing procedures with our Family Members.''
