A woman remodelling her home in Idaho uncovered a wall plastered with 1,600 baseball cards.
Melissa Brodt was giving her son’s bedroom a makeover and after picking off roof shingles from the wall and was “shocked” to discover the wall covered in the MLB trading memorabilia, roughly 1,600 in total.
She told KTVB-TV: "I was surprised, shocked, confused. I wasn't sure what I was looking at until we continued to pull down the shingles."
They were able to trace the card’s original owner, Chris Nelson, now 44, who was “obsessed” with baseball so his parents glued them to the wall.
He told CNN: "In the late 80s I was absolutely obsessed with baseball. We just decided we were going to wallpaper one of the walls with the excess baseball cards."
"We ended up with a few packages of roof shingles, and we just nailed them up on the wall and painted them.”
Chris isn’t interested in getting the cards back - and doesn’t think they are worth anything - but liked being reminded of the “memory”.
Chris said: "It's a nice memory of a family activity that we did for a couple of days where we were all getting along and having fun together.”
