Monopoly have issued a 'boardgame etiquette' decree to prevent tempers flaring while playing the classic board game this Christmas.
Hasbro and Mr. Monopoly have taken action following the news that Queen Elizabeth has banned the Royal Family from playing Monopoly during the festive season because the games get "too vicious".
The guide promises to make all players – whether they are royalty or otherwise – think twice before provoking a festive feud due to a fallout over the boardgame.
The decree prevents Monopoly players from making false allegations during the game and also aims to stop players from emotional outbursts such as foot stomping and name-calling.
Monopoly players are also encouraged to avoid unsporting behaviour and not to bend the rules in favour of one player – regardless of how old they are.
Finally, players are told that they must not flip the board – no matter how high tensions may run during the game.
