Research from The English Breakfast Society (EBS) found that 84 per cent of women consider the ability to make a nice full English to be a "very sexy" trait in a man and a "total turn-on".

However, less than one in five think that those making the traditional breakfast are attractive.

EBS chairman Guise Bule hailed the "seductive power" of the fry-up and described the dish as a true "expression of love".

He said: "What they actually found sexy was a person's attention to detail, quality and care in preparing a traditional dish of food and then presenting it to them for inspection and consumption.

"It has the effect of increasing his standing in life, making him more attractive to the opposite sex in the process."
