More men are snapping their penises during sex.
NHS figures have revealed that surgeons repaired 169 fractured members in the 12 months to April 2022, a rise of 46 from the year before.
Experts have claimed that the findings suggest that more men are using Viagra to try and enhance their performance in the bedroom.
The majority of surgical procedures are being carried out on men in their 30s, although two people in their 70s had painful problems last year.
Experts say that the eye-watering injury is likely to occur when couples take on certain positions in the bedroom.
London-based urologist Gordon Muir explained that the breaks are more likely to occur during romps as the penis gets bent in attempts to re-insert.
He told The Irish Sun newspaper: "Most men feel a pop or crack and lose their erection.
"There's usually bruising.
"The penis can look like an aubergine.
"If untreated, erectile dysfunction or scarring can cause serious long-term problems."
