Men do not have to change their underwear every day.
Skin specialists have claimed that there is no increase in the risk of infection if a person wears that same pair of pants for a couple of days.
Dr. Anju Methil, a dermatologist for the India-based company ClinicSpots, said: "In situations with minimal activity and no sweating, changing every other day may be acceptable.
"Men's looser-fitting style like boxers may also allow for slightly longer wear."
Dr. Chun Tang, a GP and medical director for the British firm Pall Mall Medical, said: "While wearing underwear for multiple days isn't ideal, breathable cotton boxers can be worn for two days if proper hygiene practices are maintained."
However, the same rules do not apply to women due to the accumulation of bacteria while men are also at risk if they do not change frequently enough.
