An overweight Chinese man was saved from falling down a well by his large stomach.

The man, known only as Liu, became wedged in the well and only his 19 stone frame prevented him from falling down completely.
According to a fire service report, Liu got trapped in a well outside his home in Luoyang. He had been trying to fill the well with rubbish but nearly fell through as he stood on the junk to force it through the hole.
Liu was pulled free from the well and only suffered minor injuries in the incident.
However, the fire service bluntly stated that he was ''too fat'' to fall down the hole.
