A man spent three hours in ice to break a Guinness World Record.
Valerjan Romanovski spent three hours and 28 minutes with his body submerged in ice on a street in Wilno as he maintained full body contact with the cold stuff for long enough to smash the previous benchmark of two hours and 35 minutes - which had been set by Frenchman Romain Vandendrope.
Romanovski, an endurance enthusiast, explained that he had spent six months training for the record.
He told Guinness: "I have been dealing with the cold for several years.
"Half a year before the record, there was a decision made to try my strengths in this discipline. I did a few trainings, after which I decided that the record was within reach.
"Workouts are not difficult for me. My body is prepared for them. I like new challenges."
