A man faces missing out on millions after forgetting his Bitcoin password.
Stefan Thomas has around $220 million worth of cryptocurrency locked away on a hard drive - but the data will be erased after 10 password attempts.
He has attempted the password eight times without any joy and is unable to find the piece of paper which contains the all-important password.
Thomas admits that the incident has taught him lessons, even though he looks likely to miss out on becoming a multimillionaire.
He told ABC7 News: "You sort of question your own self-worth. What kind of person loses something this important?
"It was actually a really big milestone in my life where, like, I sort of realised how I was going to define my self-worth going forward. It wasn't going to be about how much money I have in my bank account."
