A man has taken to trains in New York dressed in a rat costume.

'Buddy The Rat' - also known as performance artist Jonothon Lyons - has been surprising citizens of the Big Apple by boarding public transport in the rodent outfit, which includes a full-face mask and a long pink tail.
Lyons completes his costume with a smart suit and shoes as well as wearing gloves on his hands as he crawls across the floor for the benefit of his followers on social media site TikTok.
He joked that the costume means he has no problems observing social distancing rules amid the coronavirus pandemic and adds that New Yorkers are "totally indifferent" to his crazy costume.
Lyons said: "I don’t have to worry about people staying six feet away from me."
