A man is recovering after watching 'Homes Under the Hammer' non-stop for 25 hours.
Liam Kirk raised more than £1,800 for a domestic abuse charity with his challenge after discovering that there was a TV channel that only shows episodes of the BBC renovation programme.
Kirk's 'HomesUndertheHammerthon' had been meant to last for 24 hours but presenter Martin Roberts offered him another £100 to watch an extra episode. He admits that the enthusiasm of the show's hosts was the only thing keeping him going.
Speaking in the 22nd hour of the challenge, Kirk told BBC News: "To be quite honest it's just sort of colours and sounds to me at this point.
"It's quite hard for me to pay attention."
Kirk, from Nottingham, explained that it was particularly difficult watching the show through the night.
He added: "I think 22 episodes sort of exceeds the recommended dose of 'Homes Under the Hammer'.
"In one of my darkest hours in the middle of the night, there was an episode where Martin got to visit his hometown of Stockton Heath, and he was very excited about it, so that helped me get through the night a little bit."
