A man has set a new world record for sitting immersed in ice cubes.
French 'Ice Man' Romain Vandendorpe was buried up to his neck in ice for two hours, 35 minutes and 43 seconds to smash the previous record by 40 minutes. The health worker completed the sub-zero challenge to raise money for child cancer charities.
Vandendorpe revealed that he coped in the ice by training to "overcome human limits" by techniques based on "imagination and concentration" to put himself in "a state of daydreaming".
His training techniques also included sitting in an ice-cold jacuzzi and burying himself in snow in the ski resort of Chamonix.
He said: "If we train, if we give our all, we can advance (and) obtain results that can improve things."
